Summer 2003 Movies Sneak Peek

This summer is shaping up to be a banner season for DudeNight movies. Below you will find our chronological breakdown of movies us guys are looking forward to!

May 15
The Matrix Reloaded
- What can I say. The first one screamed DudeNight and the next sequel in this trilogy should be even better. In addition to great fights and gunplay, we'll get to see more hot women kicking ass in leather! Jada Pinkett Smith and Monica Bellucci join Carrie-Anne Moss and the gang in raging against the machines!

May 23
Bruce Almighty
- Jim Carry goes back to his comedy roots in this laugher about GOD, Morgan Freeman, giving his powers to Bruce. Non-wife friendly humor should result. Also stars Jennifer Anniston.
The In-Laws - This remake of the '79 version could be good with Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks co-starring as the fathers of a young couple getting married. Premise is similar to the Odd Couple in most respects.

May 30
The Italian Job -  Thiefs and police chase each other through the streets of LA in this action movie starring Mark Wahlberg, Edward Norton (against his will according to the LA Times), Charlize Theron, Donald Sutherland and Seth Green. Derived from a 1969 Michael Caine film of the same name, this one features the actors (doing much of the stunt driving) working their way through 32 Mini Coopers donated to film by BMW. Hopefully it doesn't just turn into one big BMW ad...

June 6
2 Fast 2 Furious - Street racing returns to the big screen in this sequel to the movie that is credited with launching Vin Diesel's career into overdrive. Hopefully his absence won't dampen the action in this flick.

June 13
Dumb & Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd - Can two relative unknowns carry off the magic of the original? Find out as we go back in time to meet Harry and Lloyd in high school.
Hollywood Homicide - Harrison Ford, every dude's favorite guy, pairs up with Josh Hartnet, in a comedy buddy flick about two unlikely cops. Sound familiar?

June 20
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - What can you say? This is a classic and deserves to be back on the big screen. Clint Eastwood stars in this re-issue of this classic spaghetti western. This was the third in the series Clint did with director Sergio Leone.

June 27
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle - Hot chicks, hotter action and Bernie Mac. What's not to like about this piece of summer fluff?

June TBA
Camera Obscura - Ok, so this one may be a little artsy for most of you but the slug intrigues me. "LAPD crime-scene photographer confronts his fears by distorting reality." - LA Times

July 2
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines - He's back but he's not bad. No, the baddy this time is a hot chick! What better way to get at that pesky John Connor. Hope there is enough in this series to make this one fly. Cameron is out of this film...

July 9
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl - Swords, pirates and native curses. Sounds like great fun even if it is loosely based on an insipid ride at Disneyland.

July 11
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - Remake of the original British movie starring Sean Connery and lots of special effects. Let's see what sort of magic Stephen Norrington (of Blade fame) can whip up here.

July 18
Bad Boys II - Will and Martin team up to bring us even more mahem and hot bods from the south beaches of Florida. Should be LOUD.
Johnny English -Think Mr. Bean as James Bond. This film, starring the hilarious Rowan Atkinson is knocking them dead back in merry old England.

July 25
Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life - More from Angelina. 'Nuff said...
Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over - This probably rates as a Mini-DudeNight movie. Grab the kids and see the latest from writer-director Robert Rodriguez. You'll always enjoy seeing the lucsious Carla Gugino if nothing else.

August 1
American Wedding - Turn the crew from American Pie loose on a wedding and watch the potty humor flow. This is gonna be good!

August 8
S.W.A.T. - This is probably going to be terrible, but I normally go to DudeNight with a couple of real-life SWAT team members so it should be fun to watch them trash this one.

August 15
Freddy vs. Jason - The preview for this got the biggest interest out of all the ones preceeding the latest Matrix offering. I've given up on these films long ago but this might be just right to bring my butt back into the theaters. If nothing else, I can say I did it.

August TBA
The Princess Blade - Fantasy film. Futuristic samurai tale of chicks with swords.
Wonderland - Val Kilmer as Long John Holmes? This could be interesting. Actresses of not include Kate Bosworth, Carrie Fischer<G>, Christina Applegate and Natasha Gregson Wagner.
